1966 Corvette Sting Ray Coupe

Beauty exudes from every line and angle in this stunning Corvette. A gorgeous creation from Chevrolet now perfected with a complete restoration and rebuild. The rare Mosport Green paint highlights the flowing sculpture of the body and the Ferrari tan leather completes this attention grabbing vehicle.

Stored in a private collection in Scottsdale, Arizona for many years the C2 was given a fresh coat of paint and reluctantly released to the market. Purchased in September 2011 and imported to Qld it again entered a collection and was then lovingly restored to what you see now.

This is a matching numbers car but with an enhanced engine bay and interior. C2s have proven to be the most popular of all Corvettes with their curvaceous lines, however many of this model had dark green and black, almost boring, interiors, that did not align with the elegance of the exteriors. The top quality tan leather changes this dramatically and adds to the driving comfort and stand out appearance.

1966 - Built in Flint , Michigan, USA in  July 1966. Matching numbers car with 327cu in 300hp engine and Fuelie heads. Optioned with teakwood steering wheel, soft ray tint windows, Positraction rear, power steering, AM-FM radio.  
2011 - Purchased from Scottsdale, Arizona the C2 had just been freshly painted. The interior and engine bay were still original.
2011 - Qld registered November, power brake booster fitted.
2012 - New exhaust fitted. Powerglide (not 4sp man) trans rebuilt.
2015 - Chrome Rally wheels with Chev caps fitted.
2017 - Interior recovered in Ferrari tan leather.
2018 - Original engine rebuilt, rebored, new pistons, mild cam, Edelbrock intake manifold. PWR custom aluminium radiator, new clutch fan and twin thermo fans hidden in radiator shroud.
2018 - Full rebuild of front and rear suspensions using all OEM parts where possible. Steering box rebuilt.
2019 - Original 4 pot 4 wheel disc brake callipers replaced with Willwood callipers.

The interior is truly a work of art completed by a professional upholsterer specialising in Ferrari and other top marques and now has a Concours D'elegance quality. The C2  was completely stripped inside then quality sound deadening applied to the floor before underlay and new carpets went in. The tan leather is unmarked, without defect, Ferrari quality and the carpet is Mercedes stock.

The standard basic roof lining is replaced with a Targatop design adding to the quality and thought put into this splendid interior. The now comfortable seats were repadded before the leather was generously laid. The same Ferrari leather adorns the dash cowls which then flows along the the door cards and sweeps up into the rear section under the graciously curved back window thus removing the rather industrial trim that Corvette used at the time.

The four smaller gauges were replaced with OEM units and the faces of the original speedo and tacho were replaced . The speedo had new gears fitted whilst it was stripped down. The bevels around the gauges were polished so that the entire bevels now show chrome rather than just the leading edge.

The teakwood steering wheel was replaced with a Billet unit.

All the original parts are retained and will go with the car. These include the intake manifold, rocker covers, teakwood steering wheel, steel wheels and trims. A new, complete set of LED exterior lights and a rear wiring loom are also included with various other parts.
